BC SPCA is the largest animal welfare organization of its kind in North America, and the largest animal sheltering society in the world. I selected this project due to my passion for animal welfare. Recognizing a need for improvement, my goal is to enhance the website's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) to better serve users and optimize the conversion of site visits into both donations and animal adoptions.
The key issues identified with the existing website are:
CONTENT ORGANISATION
The content is cluttered and attempting to convey a multitude of information all in one place (e.g. adoption page includes information on donations, events, education).ACCESSIBILITY
The existing color palette does not adhere to accessibility standards. Improvements can be made to the color palette and its application throughout the site to ensure compliance with accessibility standards. This will enhance the visibility of call-to-action (CTA) buttons, preventing them from competing with each other and with page content, such as the application on CTA buttons and links.
The goal of the redesign is to enhance user navigation on the website by reimagining the organization of information. The redesign will prioritize consideration for accessibility standards and address the specific needs associated with accessibility, ultimately aiming for an improved, user-friendly experience.

Market Analysis
Animal rescue and wildlife organizations leverage websites to generate awareness, gather donations, and facilitate adoption applications. The most engaging and effective websites are characterized by easy navigation, abundant use of high-quality images that capture visitors' attention, and the inclusion of useful information presented in language that encourages visitors to take action.

Future Progresses
Build out all sections of the website, incorporating expansions and enhancements to the following areas:
USER PROFILE
A dashboard that incorporates favourited adoptable animals, along with the user's donation history. This includes details on donation frequency, selected causes for each donation, and the status of the animal(s) sponsored or donated to.
ADOPTIONS
Create a streamlined, user-friendly, and visually engaging online adoption process. Focus on making the adoption journey intuitive and visually appealing for users.
DONATIONS
Introduce a searchable ‘thank you’ wall to recognise anyone that makes a donation of any size. This feature aims to encourage more support by publicly appreciating contributors.
